Carlos D Ortiz a.k.a. Dj Lito "Da Headbanga Show" was born in Manhattan raised in West Farms area of the Bronx as a Latino of Puerto Rican Decent. One of his biggest influences in wanting to become a DJ, was his father. Watching his father mount those old school gemini speakers on the window blasting music of Latin legends such as Hector Lavoe, Frankie Ruiz, El Gran Combo, Disco and Freestyle music. While participating in his father’s passion, which was playing his instruments and singing to the music, Lito grew his own passion for mixing these types of music. He heard music played by different DJ’s such as Alex Sensation, DJ Johnny Famolari, DJ Enuff, Dj Camilo, DJ Funk Master Flex, and he knew that this style of playing music was different from what he was used to, inspiring him to want to also mix music. “Music is the most powerful expression that we have in life. Its like a time machine that can take you to your deepest emotions. When you hear a song that triggers a good memory it makes you want to relive that moment in time.” DJ Lito has a strong passion for music. He's unique in the sense that he expresses his emotions threw his mixes. From watching and listening to him you could see he's telling a story. A story of the hard knock life growing up in the streets he knew his only way out was threw his imagination in music. This is what makes Dj Lito stand out from other upcoming djs. His diversity has allowed him to express himself in several places such as Manhattan,Bronx,Brooklyn, New Jersey, and virginia. DJ Lito is a self taught dj who never had a mentor to teach him how to mix, scratch, or blend. Although he specializes in latin music he also has skills in genres such as Hip hop,R&b,Reggae, Disco, Funk house, and freestyle. He's spun and hosted at several revenues such as BB Kings in (Times Sq NYC), Hudson River Cafe (NYC), Latin Quarters (NYC),Harbor Lights (NYC), Status Lounge (Nj), Rock And Soul (NYC), Status Lounge (NJ), Azucar (NJ)
EVO Lounge Known as Mi Gente Cafe (BX), The Pine (BX), Boca Grande (NJ) South Of France (BX) BottomLine (BX), Remy Cafe (BX), Latin Lounge (NJ), Sapitos (BX), Lago Lounge (NJ), Reflections (NJ), Green Lounge (NJ), Pompiee (BX) Latin Kitchen (Bx), Taino (NJ), Niteline Radio (BX), Beso Lounge (BX). Not only being a club dj but also has done private events. He also has released mixtapes. With Lito's passion and diverse skills theres no doubt that he will continue to progress in his career.
