Sebastián Silva a.k.a. Basti is a former punk rocker from Argentina who relocated to the USA in 1999 to pursue a career in music. He started DJing and buying vinyl records in the year 2000.
Basti has since established himself as a regular in Miami’s underground House and Techno scene and has played alongside Artists like Seth Troxler, DJ Tennis, Tale of Us, Fairmont, Thugfucker, Lee Curtiss, Shaun Reeves, Tiefschwarz, Danny Howells, Magda, Ekkohaus, Dewalta, Alexi Delano, Dinky, Junior Boys, Soul Clap, Wolf + Lamb, Tanner Ross, No Regular Play, Maayan Nidam, Marc Romboy, Damian Lazarus, Heidi, M.A.N.D.Y., Lee Foss, Sascha Funke, Ryan Elliott, Butane, Elon, Bruno Pronsato, Jennifer Cardini, Rodriguez Jr., Sebo K, Marco Resmann, Matt John, Vincenzo, Nitin, Konrad Black, Robert Dietz, Damian Schwartz, Bill Patrick, Ambivalent, Gaiser, Dave Aju, dOP, Blood Orange, Barem, Dilo, Gurtz, Fase, Matias Aguayo, Robag Whrume, Rone, Dyed Soundorom, Tony Rohr, Till Von Sein, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Lone, Miguel Campbell, Ten Walls, Bob Moses, Christian Loffler, Mark Henning, Cassy, Clarian and Nima Gorji among others. He became a Resident DJ with PL0T Miami in 2008. Then, after 4 years with the collective, he took a break to study sound engineering and music production. In 2014 he joined forces with the PL0T family again. He’s also been one of the Resident DJ’s at the infamous Electric Pickle in Miami from 2009 until 2015. In recent years, he made the leap to incorporate live elements in his performances, using hardware midi controllers and analog drum machines, demonstrating forward thinking approach to his live sound.
Currently, he’s back in Argentina and set up his studio in Buenos Aires. Working on original tracks and remixes, as well as collaborating with colleagues on various projects under different aliases.
